Creativity

I love to spend my Sundays making jewelry and sewing clothes. It’s a wonderful method to help me focus on creativity and shutting down from the long week of logic and intensity.

Most of the time I start with making an outfit, a skirt and jacket. Sometimes I’ll buy a blouse to go with the outfit and then I’ll make a set of necklace, earrings and a bracelet. It is always unique and is designed to fit into my speaking career.

I love to pick out unique materials and have a great collection that waits to inspire me on a future date. The colors, the feel of the material, even the weight of the material can be the determining factor. I typically see what the material will end up becoming based on the design of the fabric.

I choose the style based on where I think I will wear it most often. If it will be a breakout session or a platform speaking outfit, it will be designed for that type of event.

The jewelry is designed to compliment the outfit. I like bulky jewelry with larger earrings and multi strand necklaces and bracelets. I have been very fortunate in finding unique beads that really set off the outfit.

If you don’t take the time to use your right brain creativity, you are missing the boat.
