I have tried many methods of hanging the necklaces I have. I have made the majority of them and I have received quite a few as gifts over the years. I’ve used jewelry boxes, but they are never big enough. I’ve used a molding piece that I put cup holders on but there wasn’t an easy way to hang it up.
After I made the new earring hanger and saw they had curtain rods that were a bit smaller (24″) I went and looked at the shower curtain hangers and found some that matched the curtain rod.
The hardest part of the whole project was hanging the hangers on the wall. The wall is exactly 24″ wide and the last two inches are where the framing is for the closet, so it’s next to impossible to drill and have molly screws in to make sure there would be enough strength to hold up the weight of the necklaces.
The greatest part of this hanger system is it’s the first time I’ve ever had my necklaces out in plain view and in such a way that I will be able to see exactly what I’m look for without having to spend a lot of time looking for what I want.
The necklaces are safe and secure and look like an art piece too!
I’m very happy with the way it turned out and will use it in the future homes.
